Bistrita is a settlement documented in 1241 which received its city rights in 1353. It was an important medieval trade center, being one of the seven cities of Transylvania. Bistrita was known as the Bistriţu, Bistritz or Beszterce, its population being made ​​up of Romanians, Saxons and Hungarians.
Bistrita City is located in the North-East of the Transylvanian Plateau. The Depression of Bistrita is crossed by the river Bistrita. Gateway is the European road E58 (DN17) linking Transylvania and Moldavia.
Wishing to continue the city's urban history, our society tries to pair with this past,respecting the tradition and architecture of the old town, coming up with proposals that combine medieval modern architectural elements of Bistrita.
